Situation with Jamie's ranking is as follows.

He is currently assured of going at least as high as 28. If he reaches the final he will go to at least 27 (equalling his career high) and will go to 26 if Polasek loses in the other SF. He would also go to 27 if both he and Polasek lose in the SF's. If Jamie wins the final he will go at least as high as 24 and would go to 23 if Soares loses in his SF.

And then will rapidly drop back when he plays musical chairs with a myriad of partners?

He has quite a lot of points still to defend this year, notably the 500 in Valencia. He could really do with beng able to enter Valencia or Basle.

I'm sure he'd like to have spent a week or two in the top 25 before the Valencia points come off. After all, he might never get the chance again. Hopefully he will, but when Boggo dropped back from WR 108, many of us probably thought it was only a temporary blip before he had another chance to get into the top 100.
