Week 40 - Challenger ($100,000) - Sacramento CA, USA - Hard

QR1: (q3) Jamie Baker WR 272 v (wc) Arthur Karagezian (USA) WR 1197

- (q8) Daniel Kosakowski (USA) WR 371 is the other seed in what looks like a relatively week section

QR1: (q7) Alex Bogdanovic WR 325 v Treat Huey (PHI) WR 889

- (q4) Pierre-Ludovic Duclos (CAN) WR 278 is the other seed in this section - Boggo beat his 7-5 in the 3rd at Wolfsburg in 2009

... and Cox. You'd have thought one of the reasons why they were playing those two Futures in California was to end up having a go at qualifying here.

Maybe our players just don't like former collegiate players from the Southern states. Singh was Virginia; Smith was Tennessee; I think Huey was Virginia also. And Johnson was ... well does Southern California count? (Recalling conversations with people from the South, I suspect not).

Might this work in favour of Ed Corrie (Texas)? Maybe he should come back to the UK for some more futures and see .....

L32: (8) James Ward WR 155 v (WC) Jack Sock WR 414 (= CH), whose last match was his 2 & 4 loss to Boggo in Tulsa last month

The other seed in Wardy's quarter is top seed and former world no. 4 James "only the crumbliest, flakiest" Blake, now ranked 74.
