Another 5 first serves, another hold. Set Navarro 6 4. Fitzy is well in this match tho.

6 4 6 4- not without a fight- got another 15 30. Good performance that pushed a great serving display out of Navarro.

Yes, pity Navarro never let up on getting the 1st serves in, else who know how close Fitzy could have pushed him.

Well done on a very good week - next time you'll get him!

hi guys,
the commentary sums it up i was more than in the match and the least i deserved was the second set. I got reads on his serve and was creaming returns. He has seriously good volleys and always makes u hit a second passing shot. I was coming up with some special lobs.

The ref was an absolute disgrace in favour of him but i dont want to go into that.
The shlob (shank - lob) to break me was just too good, i had to watch it sail over my head, even then i had chances to get a break back.
He served outrageous and im pleased i pushed him very close and should have knicked a set against a quality player.

hopefully onwards and upwards from here....next is glasgow and cardiff, i fly home from spain on sunday. Just got back to the apartment, broady is out here training before he goes to barcelona next week.

I need to keep the futures going until the end of the year, just working out how!
taxed 90 euros....killed me

QF : Andrew Fitzpatrick WR 750  lost to  (1) Ivan Navarro (ESP) WR 192 (CH 67 in 2009)   6 - 4   6 - 4

QF : (8) Morgan Phillips WR 539  lost to  (2) Joao Sousa (POR) WR 210 (CH 190 in 2011)   6 - 1   6 - 4

Does seem Fitzy was very competitive there from all that I read so disappointing as it must be to lose, I hope he also finds real further encouragement there that he's on the right path.

I don't post a lot on here, but I do read a lot! I love to catch up with all that's going on. I think it's brilliant to get first-hand info from players like Fitzy - gives a real insight into their world. So I really just wanted to say a big thank you to him for taking the trouble - it's much appreciated - and to say good luck for the future with all its challenges and uncertainties.

Might be worth pointing out that you, Fitzy took more games off the 1st seed ranked 550 odd below him, than the  8th seed took off the 2nd seed.

not a problem jan i like to give back as its not much out of my day to give a little write up on whats going on and give people insight where they wouldnt normally.
u can follow me on twitter https://twitter.com/#!/Fitzmister

I just like to focus on what im doing, and i know that i pushed a really quality player and should have taken a set and then anything can happen. Ive made alot of progress this year, goal was to get into 600's hopefully i may have done that now, not sure.

You probably need one more point to be ranked in the 600s - you'll have 23 points when the 17 Oct ranking list comes out and one of the players who has 23 points at the moment is ranked 701 but he has only played three events - 23 points with 18 events played is WR 712 at the moment.

So, only one more point (possibly two, depending on how players move around the 700 level) needed to make your year-end target with no more points to defend this year and quite a few weeks left - it can't be bad
