Glad to see Laura is in this event, although the fact she needed a wild card represents a massive surge in popularity of the qualies for this event compared to the last couple of years (and I have no idea why this is).

Tough draw as well, playing the No. 4 see din round 1 and being in the same section as Melida Czink who is still under-ranked because of injury.

I'm not sure what plans Bally, Heather and Anne have but it's a bit of a shame that none of them are at one of the biggest events of the year when they do have high enough rankings to at least enter qualifying.

I suspect Laura is ok because she has had WCs for a mix of slam, WTA and ITF events

Laura missed out on the chance to play on the interestingly named Lotus and Moon courts and is instead on the much more mundane Court 4, second match on.
