Week 39 - ATP 250 - Bangkok, Thailand (doubles)

(1) Oliver Marach & Aisam-Ul-Haq Qureshi (AUT/PAK) v Jamie Delgado & Jonathan Marray (GBR/GBR)

(WC) Danai Udomchoke & Kittipong Wachiramanowong (THA/THA) v Jamie Murray & Andre Sa (GBR/BRA)

Winners of the above matches play each other in R2.

Edited to add "doubles" to the title as we have a thread with the same title in Andy's section

Ah, Bangkok is quite far from Metz, so if Jamie and Andre could have their 1st round match held not before Wednesday, that would be spiffing, chaps.  Thank you  smile

Jamie and Andre are 5-0* up, the other Brit pair lost the first set and are playing a tiebreak in the second.

Jamie & André 5-2* after having points to take the set by 6-1. hmm   J&J, unsurprisingly, lost to the top seeds by 4-6 6-7(1), though I suppose that scoreline is by no means a disgrace. cry  All that way for nowt, except perhaps the experience of playing in an ATP 250 tournament! bleh

They were on the verge of losing the second by the same score when they broke back! *5-5

Despite winning three Grand Slam matches this season, Jamie and Jonny are now 0-6 in regular ATP events this season. 7 double faults again this match, it is a real problem for them.

And they finally wrap it up by 3 & 5 & bag at least 45 points. smile  They will have a chance to avenge J&J's defeat in the QF:

QF:  (1) Oliver Marach & Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi (AUT/PAK) vs Jamie Murray & André Sá (BRA)

I see Jamie lost in three this morning to the top seeds, not unexpected, but sad all the same.

Oliver MARACH / Aisam-Ul-Haq QURESHI def Jamie MURRAY / Andre SA 6-4, 2-6, 10-7
