QR2: (q6) Ashley Hewitt WR 1107 beat Jordan Wright (AUS) UNR by 1 & 2
FQR: (q6) Ashley Hewitt WR 1107 lost to (q9) Matteo Marfia (ITA) WR 1224 (CH 999 last Nov) by 4 & 4 bleh

Ashley had beaten Marfia by the same score at a Futures event in Nottingham last year.

Both Brits in the main draw are in the bottom quarter but not in adjacent matches:

L32: (8) David Rice WR 502 v Takuto Niki (JPN) WR 578
L32: Sean Thornley WR 547 v Ivan Sergeyev (UKR) WR 627

Not a nice draw for Sean - Ivan Sergeyev has won two Challenger titles (in 2009/10), was ranked in the top 150 as recently as last summer and beat Josh Goodall in a dead Davis Cup rubber to give the Ukraine a 4-0 lead against us at Braehead in 2009.

Doubles:

R1:  (1) David Rice & Sean Thornley WR 428 vs Anton Manegin & Valery Rudnev (RUS/RUS) UNR

David & Sean should cruise through this... shouldn't they?   The second seeds, Roelofse & Safwat, are ranked N° 1134. wink

In stark contrast with Sweden, our boys draw a blank in the second round in Turkey, Sean losing by 4 & 0 & David by 6-4 3-6 3-6. cry

Does someone know how many Futures Antalya has hosted in this decade?

In this year alone, Turkey F1-F15 were all in Antalya, plus F19 and F25. Plus there is a further 9 scheduled this year, so 26 this year.

Thanks for the replies to the query, guys. That's nuts, I expected 9-10 per year at most!
