RE: Week 39 Futures - Sweden F6 ($10,000) - Falun (Hard)

Ooer 15-30, come on Alex, close this out. That's a start - 30-30 ... taking control of the net gets him to 40-30 sp

Looks as if he maybe broke a string at the 15 - 30 point and rushed the net and found a shot when he got there  smile

Alex playing very solid tennis, some really good rallies and his groundstrokes are consistently deep and with some pace

Into a 3rd set we go...

Yes, he looks a very decent player when he's finding the lines, which he was a lot more in the 2nd set.

Alex has thus won his first Futures singles title at his 4th attempt (his breakthrough Final in Spain back in 2008 then Finals the last 3 weeks including this one)

He is W 13 L 2 in Sep/Oct and will move up to about WR 380 on 10 Oct to be GB no. 8 and 2nd among the 21yo Brits behind Evo but ahead of Cox & Milton.

Great to see.  Very consistent groundstrokes and ultimatelty just seemed to wear Bergman down.

big congrats to alex! i got to see the final set of both the muzz win and this match, so it was a satisfying afternoon of tennis viewing for me.  bergman had big serve and forehand, but alex nicely withstood the barrage and came forward nicely at times.

i just wish i had sound for the trophy ceremony, as not only did i want to hear what ward had to say, but i was wondering what the heck the guy in red and the guy in blue could be going on about for 15 mins after the winner and r/u were interviewed?  weird ceremony!
