She's got a main draw wild card for Tokyo WTA (which seems odd until you find out that her management company runs the event) - it's been talked about on the week 39 entries thread. I'll change the title on this thread so that it becomes the main Tokyo thread.

L56: (WC) Laura Robson WR 146 v Alexandra Dulgheru (ROU) WR 53 (CH 26 in April)
Dulgheru was the player who upset Petra Kvitova in R1 at the USO ... then got thrashed 0 & 3 by Niculescu in R2! Her best performance in the last 12 months was reaching the QFs in Miami, where she beat Scheepers, Larsson and Peng before being edged out by Sharapova in a 3rd set teibreak. Other than that, she often tends to get through one round but no more, similar to Bally, whom she beat in Dubai earlier this year.
She has a much worse record against other Brits, e.g. 0-2 v Katie, both in straight sets, though those matches were longer ago, 2007/9.
When she reached her career high in April, she still had R3s at RG, Wimbledon and the USO in her ranking, but R2 exits at those three slams this year have seen her ranking drop back a bit.

Very good in round 1's and seemingly against lefties (Kivitova/Rus) before she crashes out with bad losses in round 2, so very difficult to assess. Should be able to get her teeth into the match and at this level that is as much as you can ask for. If Laura does win a certain Nigel Sears won't need to do much scouting.
