Well, Andy is certainly suited to fast hard surfaces, there would been no sense at all in slowing down the surface for him in anticipation of him playing.

Although, again surely they would know there was a real doubt about his participation, plus I guess he would be more able to take care of himself.

Steven, Flembo beat Lacko for the loss of 3 games in the Glasgow Futures semi, going on to lose in 3 to Robert in the final. He serve / volleyed him off the court.

Not to be completely negative but i cant see us winning this at all without Andy.

I guess on current form Leon had to pick Evo or he would have got slaughtered for not picking him.

In my opinion i would have picked Goodall, just because his bigger game would probably hurt his opponents more? I can see it being another one of them ties where we just see Evo getting hit off the court, but would love to be proved wrong.

Ward might take one, you would bank on us winning most dubs rubbers now, 1 more rubber would be a dream.

if Ward is injured haven't they got every excuse to bring Josh in now? He and Dan seem in good form at the moment.

Without Andy, I think the two in best form would have been James and Josh but I guess the surface is slow as they would have hoped Andy would be playing so maybe Evo is more suited to it than Josh.

Possible that Josh's recent back problems were also a factor in the decision.

The way I see it, we probably wont win so we should lay down a fast carpet and send in our biggest servers haha, 1.Goodall and 2.Inglot

Doh! ashamed Too many late nights recently catching up with me, I fear. Pretty inexcusable of me not to double check too - it did seem odd when I first saw it!

Anyway, I'm extremely happy to have been wrong about that! biggrin

Indy, i think you overestimate the LTA's ability to oversee the laying of the type of court they want. It always seems to end up as a slow court. maybe that's something to do with the fact it's only a temporary surface though.

Great Britain v Slovak Republic, Davis Cup Europe/Africa Group II

I can't find anywhere to post correction of their mistakes, it makes you think they think they don't make any!!
