Top seed Timo Nieminen lost today, so with that plus Jankovits losing to Lewis (it actually says default on the drawsheet rather than injury), Alex Ward is the only seed to have survived to the quarter-finals.

Good to see one of the 1993s starting to put back to back wins together, and another against the underranked Swede (born in Chile, hence the non-Swedish name) would be very welcome. Should there be any complacency I hope Oli takes notice of one of the other quarter-finalists, Daniel Berta, who won a Grand Slam over 2 years ago and has yet to reach break even point in Futures, never mind threaten the top 500
George only had the 1 ranking point before didn't he? God stuff from him.
It's good, but not sure it's quite that good
This will be the Wardinator's 12th Futures singles semi - he has W 2 L 9 of his previous 11, the wins coming in his first one (his breakthrough run to the Final from qualifying in Spain) and last week, when I hadn't realised he was breaking a 9 semi losing streak!
Alex is now not only the only seed left (he was the only one who even made the QFs) but also the oldest player left in the draw and if Meuffels manages to beat Firmin in the last QF (which has only just started), he'll be the only direct entrant to make the semis too!
Edit: Firmin has just taken the 1st set 6-1

In addition to that, with his points this week Lewis will overtake Liam to become the top "LB" in the GB top 25 - right next to each other, for maximum confusion LOL
QF: (3) Alex Ward WR 469 beat Lewis Burton WR 744 by 4 & 3 QF: (Q) George Morgan WR 1916 beat (Q) Pablo Figueroa (SWE) WR 1152 by 4 & 4
SF: (3) Alex Ward WR 469 v Emilien Firmin (FRA) WR 869 SF: (Q) George Morgan WR 1916 v (WC) Tobias Blomgren (SWE) WR 1360 (ex-top 40 junior)
