Yessss. So happy for George, I remember he tweeted something about how badly he was playing two months ago. He went back to the us open, built up his confidence and now BANG. Let's keep this up from now on. Don't bother going to Eddie Herr or the Orange Bowl, imo. Stay with the seniors now.
He moves in between Liam and Ollie in the rankings. Keep pushing each other on, boys.
Commisirations to Alex as well. But a good week nonetheless.
I wonder when the last time a Brit rose 1000+ places in the rankings in one go ... a bit of a 'cheat' getting himself that under-ranked initially, of course
(obviously players like Flembo have jumped from unranked to even higher, but I can't remember somone ranked having a 4-figure rise all in one go)
Alex will hit new career highs each of the next two Mondays too of course, it's been the best fortnight of his career, even though I'm sure he's gutted to have lost today.

In 2008, Michael Shermer coined the word 'patternicity', defining it as "the tendency to find meaningful patterns in meaningless noise." The Believing Brain thesis also says that we have "the tendency to infuse patterns with meaning, intention, and agency", which Michael Shermer called 'agenticity'.

I read this comment without looking at the poster's name, and immediately thought, "This is by Ratty".
