Bloomers vs Ward final according to Twitter. Great praise from Josh for Richard merits a lot of respect.

Can't seem to find formal confirmation of that, but this is Josh's recent tweet, which would seem to confirm one half of the final encounter:

Eventually lost, to a top top tennis player! Great 3weeks! Now for chelsea at manchester!!

Well done, Rich!

Sean Thornley also tweeted to say it's a Ward v Bloomers final.

Gosh. Well done to Mr Bloomfield -- good to see him getting back to form. And is this Mr Ward's first final since his famous run in 2008?

I was wondering why the final score hadn't come through yet. Maybe this explains it:

F: (7) Richard Bloomfield WR 642 defeated (5) Alex Ward WR 469 6-7(6) 6-3 6-4.

Alex and Richard were fairly evenly matched as you can see by the result. It started off in sunshine but with very strong gusting cross wind which caused many problems to both players.
In the first set each had a break of serve before reaching the TB where Richard had set points at 6-3 before strugling when Alex fought back to win TB 8-6.
Second set had a lengthy rain delay with score standing at 2-2 and Alex holding advantage to break Richard's serve but on resumption some long while later and once the court had been squeegeed and use of an air blower employed and even a few copies of tabloid newspaper Richard picked up his game to prevent the break and take the set.
Third set with an early break to love Richard held on with great serving to win GSM but even then at the third match point.

Due to the rain delay the match didn't finish long before SMC1809 posted the score above

I must mention that for a $10k future it was very well organised complete with a full squad of ball girls and boys who did a very professional job. An extra linesman would have helped as I saw three obvious long calls not given which upset Richard more than Alex, however Alex did 'sky' a couple of balls, I'm not sure if the umpire noted it.
It has been some while since I last visited Notts and I was impressed with the improvements made inside especially the very pleasant cafe with very good service.
All in all an entertaining day

How many line judges did they have?

I have been to quite a few futures events this year and normally it goes something like this with regards to line judges.

R1 + R2 = 1 line judge - Far side line to umpire

QF = 2 line judges - One on each side line (one at each end)

SF = 3 line judges - One on each side line (one at each end), One covering the service line

Final (singles and doubles) - 5 line Judges - One on each side line (one at each end), One covering the service line, One on each baseline.

It was your 'SF' arrangement ie. no baselines.

In answer to Shhh I would say that there were between 20 to 30 watching
