Tie break time. Another great turn of defense into attack at 30 - 40 * and cracked away Paszek's second serve toi get adavantage and set point, but couldn't take it.
Ah Fought so well to get back to * 5 - 6 in the tiebreak and that was just an excellent point to finsih the match, just wish it had gone the other way and went to * 6 - 6.
I thought the first set was a bit fitful, first by Paszek and then by Heather with too many unforced errors.
But I thought they were both better in the second set and that was pretty good tennis.
That's the level Heather wants to be competing at and if in particular she hadn't let the first set slip away rather, and of course won the set point in the second set, it could of been a different story.
She was definitely there pleasingly looking to be the agressor quite a bit of the time, although yet again she showed some marvellous retrieval ability and turning defense into attack. Just a pity that as I described with two of the finiest examplers of this she couldn't follow through and break important Paszek service games. But on another day such super efforts will be better rewarded.

Heather looked as if she was having some trouble reading which way Pazcek was going to send her which left her having to react and turn very quickly. Sometimes Heather was able to take the initiative away from Pazcek and dominated the rallies herself. However sometimes when Heather tried to grab the initiative she just made an unforced error. It reminded me a bit of an Andy match when he needs to break out of a defensive mindset but can't quite do it. At her best Heather would probably have won that match but the edge seemed to have gone out her game and against a player of Pazcek's ability that was enough to make the difference.
