It hasn't been a good couple of days for A Fitzpatricks at the hands of the officials, whether in Madrid or Roehampton:

"Just lost 62 63, was in every game and the umpires calls all went against me, so much so it ruined my chances. Not happy. Good luck to josh"

Still, another decent week, Fitzy - into the top 750 and if you can mix it with an in-form Josh Goodall, there should be a fair bit more to come!

Just not Fitzy's day. no  Don't suppose it'll be much consolation, but at least he & Miles had a good go at the top seeds!

FINAL: (1) Josh Goodall WR 418 beat (2) Richard Bloomfield WR 631 by 7-6(4) 6-2

That is Josh's 4th singles title of the year, the second time he has won titles in consecutive weeks this year, and this time he has done it without losing a set (he is on a 20-set winning streak!) and has done the double (winning his 5th doubles title of the year) as well.

Good stuff from him - it'd be good to see him take that confidence and form into Challengers before too long.

They move onto Nottingham where the field is a bit stronger.

Obviously it is great to see Josh win 4 titles in the space of a month but we should keep some perspective. All four were 10K futures on home soil, 2 were on grass and 2 had very weak fields. Lets see him win a couple of 15K tournaments and do well overseas before we get too exited and expect a return to challengers.
