Mind you. From David's Facebook page. "Won my first match in singles at Challenger level. Pumped!!"
The thick plottens! Maybe the ATP just couldn't conceive of a Rice victory... Let's hope so. That said, the results section on the site now gives both options...!
ERV is on bet365 playing Matsukevich, so that's that matter settled, but it does still leave the unresolved mystery of David's Facebook comment! He couldn't possibly have been referring to his qualy matches, could he?

No, he has won Challenger qualifying matches before, so that wouldn't make sense.
Maybe he lost, got very drunk, came back, saw it posted on th St Rémy site that he had won, decided in his drunken haze that he must have won after all and then done the Facebook post. (I'm joking, of course, but I can't imagine what else would be consistent with him losing then making that post)
It may be that ERV is playing Dave and bet365 have just taken the names off the OoP, while getting their man on the ground to update scores "from the Roger Vasselin" match and nobody has noticed the mistake - if so, I wonder what they'll do with any bets!
Or maybe Dave is playing an elaborate trick on everybody, but I can't really see a tennis player making a joke of a loss like that!
One last (crackpot) theory - the Russian saw the mistake, decided to take his chance and got away with it ...

The St Rémy site says "ROGER VASSELIN bat MATSUKEVICH 6-4 6-4" today, so now even they seem to think Dave lost yesterday. It gets weirder and weirder, though obvious if it hadn't been for the Facebook post, we'd have been sure by now that he had lost yesterday.

I can see no sign of that post on his Facebook page & this would appear to confirm that he was in fact beaten by the pesky Russkie: http://www.tennislive.net/atp/david-rice/ .

I doubt that tells us anything new - they probably got their info from the ATP drawsheet. Odd if it no longer says that on Dave's Facebook page - I wonder if it ever did, though more than one person reported it to me on Twitter, so I assume it did, unless of course everyone else was just repeating what the first person said.
Next crazy theory - someone else updates the Facebook page and they based what they wrote on the tournament site (or based on us reporting the win based on what it said there) and then they quickly deleted it when they found out it wasn't true.
I bet someone out there is having a good laugh at us over this
