Week 36 - Challenger ($50K) - Shanghai, China - Hard

QR1: (q5) Josh Milton WR 356 v (wc) Liu Siyu (CHN) UNR

Already a top 200 junor at the age of 15, Liu has played just three senior matches, losing 3 & 2 to WR 1483 and 2 & 1 to Capkovic but beating another unranked Chinese 15 year old.

(q2) Duclos WR 292 is the top seed in this section.

L32: (6) James Ward WR 140 v Lim Yong-Kyu (KOR) WR 318 (CH 298 in Jul 2010)
L32: Jamie Baker WR 261 v (5) Tatsuma Ito (JPN) WR 127 (CH 102 last month)

20yo Lim reached the semis in Beijing as a qualifier and beat Gabashvili in Bangkok this week to makes the QFs there. Ito beat Boggo in LA Q but of course Jamie's fellow Scot Flembo upset him in Pingguo earlier this year.

James is in the top quarter with top seed Lu WR 82, Jamie in the bottom quarter with 2nd seed Schüttler.

that's tough for Jamie, Ito's at the top of his game though so it was always going to be tough. As expected from Ward, straights or 3 sets doesn't matter, its the 'W' that counts.

Dino v. Zopp is second on court 5, with play starting at noon local time.  Shanghai is 7 or 8 hrs agead, can't remember exactly....

Its a good opportunity for him to win good points without having to beat anybody ranked above him.
