RE: Week 36 - US Open - Men's Doubles

Match point on the Indo-Pak serve but it was saved and they will have to serve it out.

Another match point on their own serve, but saved again, one bp saved but not the second and Boppy/Qureshi break back

Oops, did they have two more MPs - the live scores keep freezing then jumping for me for some reason.

A quick hold from the Indo-Pak and now 15-30 ... ominous.

15-0, 15-15, 15-30 ... and judging by the long wait and the suspension on Ashe, they've come off for rain.

Yes, looks like it.

Gutted for them not seeing it out there, but they've given themselves a liitle hope of getting it into the tiebreaker.

Tweets from Colin :

We have been cancelled for tonight & will finish tmrow. Singles not cancelled at the moment.

We will finish on court 17 tomorrow and are 2nd match after a junior doubles, not before noon.

...winner of our match plays again tmrow so they decided unfair to keep us here till small hours then play tmrow

Seems fair enough.   What with the singles rearrangements, this is all getting a bit too sensible !

Colin says they have been called off for the day and will finish on Court 17 tomorrow after a junior doubles match, not before 17.00 BST. The winner of their match plays again tomorrow, so it was decided that it would be unfair to keep them there untik the small hours then play tmrow.

Except that, you've guessed it, the rain has now stopped, and given how close they were to the end ...

Ah well ...

I see Jonathan Overend described it as "misty rain".   I am guessing it wasn't bad but just no guarantee it would stop.   Guess weather can make fools of folk and Colin didn't seem to have a problem with the decision.

I presume Court 17 has lights.  From memory quite a lot do.
