The strategy of not jetting here there and everywhere and just playing the American challengers for the remainder of the year (as speculated by The Count) is a high risk strategy but I suspect it might be the right one for Boggo.
Nottingham is a very weak field, although not as weak as Roehampton the previous week. Assuming he is back from the US Open in time Broady will be seeded.
What is nice is that we could have Brits playing in 3 challenger events.
OK, assuming Andy isnt plying this Davies Cup tie, who is going to play singles? Wardy obviously, and everyone else is in a tournament somewhere!
I'd have thought Jamie B would be a shoe-in if they decided to pick another singles player - the combination of him actually being GB no. 3 at the moment, being in good form and the tie being in Glasgow (not important as far as I'm concerned, but nevertheless ...) means he ticks all the boxes at the moment. Add that to the fact that he has tended to be looked on favourably by the powers that be when it comes to DC anyway, for a combination of valid and not so valid reasons and I can't see why they would go for anyone else.

we certainly hope it pays off. Alex has been working hard these last couple of weeks in florida, it's been very humid over there which is probably a good thing as so many matches are played in humid conditions, which we just don't get that much of back home. mainly doing a lot of fitness work so hopefully he'll be in good shape to finsh the year strongly. I belive his aim is to be able to get a DA into AOQ.

I had tought Andy WOULD play this tie?????? Has he said yes/no to it anywhere yet?
I think he has said yes to it, but obviously all bets are off until the end of the US Open. Even if he does play, there's still a chance they would pick a 3rd singles player this time instead of two doubles specialists, I would have thought.

If Jamie B goes deep in Ningboo then there's no chance he could fly home to play in this.
If he's selected for the Davis Cup, he will undoubtably pull out of Ningboo.
With wanting to have the team / squad together a few days beforehand they wouldn't want any of the squad competing anywhere that week yet alone half way around the world.
