Week 35 - Challenger ($50K) - Bangkok, Thailand - Hard

They have to be joking ... bleh

L32: (4) James Ward WR 139 v Dan Cox WR 317 - H2H 2-0, both in straights, 2008/11
L32: Jamie Baker WR 298 v (WC) Kittipong Wachiramanowong (THA) WR 505 (CH 457 last year)

The winner of Jamie v smelly cat plays the winner of ... yes, you've guessed it.

Josh avoids the GB reunion section and gets ...

L32: Josh Milton WR 364 v (3) Teymuraz Gabashvili (RUS) WR 129 (CH 59 in 2009)

Giving some grounds for hope, 'bash lost <auto-correction algotithm activated> a set to WR 316 in R1 in Astana ... but is now in the Final.

Is this the same 'bash who is playing in the Astana final tomorrow?

 Yes he is.

The Stephen seems to be malfunctioning again. Presumably he meant to say that he dropped a set against WR 316 in R1 of Astana.

We knew that last weeks relative good draws in Astana couldn't last and that normal service for Brits in challengers would soon resume.

First post in a while after a busy summer, not too surprised by this draw as we were bound to get one with them all pretty close to one another. Quite lucky last week that all four were in different sections. I think Ward will beat Cox relatively comfortably but the match against Jamie (if he gets through and isn't too tired from this weeks performance) could be quite interesting.

None of our guys are in action tomorrow.

In the doubles Ward is the only Brit in the draw as he teams up with Rick De Voest. They take on a Thai WC pairing in the first round.

I want Wardy to make the run here. Nothing against the other Brits but I feel James has to keep the momentum going; it will be very difficult motivating himself back up if he stagnates towards the end of the season

Milton is third match on court 4 and Baker is 3rd match on court 6. Both of them not before 13:00 local time which is 7:00 BST.

Ward then plays in the doubles in the 5th match on court 6

eh? The draws for Brits in Challengers are good and bad in exactly equal measure as you'd expect them to be.

Maybe it is just me but they haven't seemed very friendly over the summer.
