That means at least two girls through to the second round of every slam in 2011 (including Bally in each one).
Having checked Durie, Wood, Hobbs, Gomer, Wade, Barker, Croft, Smith, Javer, Loosemore (have I missed anyone?), I believe Elena is the first British woman to make it past R1 at all four slams in the same calendar year since Jo Durie in 1983! (Durie got to at least R3 in all four slams that year)
I was thinking this result would set you off on a stat hunt and I wasn't disappointed. Do you know whenv the last occurence of two women through to R2 in all 4 slams was? I wouldn't be that surprised if it was the same year that two British women last got to round 2 of the French Open.
It pre-dates that because only one of the 5 British DAs at the 1992 AO (Jo Durie) got to R2 there and only one of the 4 Brits at the USO (qualifier Clare Wood) got to R2 there.

Going back a bit further, the last year when two or more British women got through to R2 of every slam was 1986, though it's a slight cheat because the AO was not held that year (it moved from December up to 1985 into January from 1987 onwards)

Just to finish off this set of stats, 1983 (see the Bally/Durie stat above) was also the last year when there were at least two British women in R2 of all four slams:
Hobbs R4 & Durie SF @ RG Brown R2, Durie R3 & Wade QF @ Wimbledon Wade R2 & Durie SF at the US Open Hobbs R2, Wade R2 & Durie QF at the Aus. Open
