In some ways the new breed are comparable to the old ones; chalk and cheese. Bally/Laura are the big hitters who are aggressive yet frustratingly inconsitent, whilst Anne/Hev are the better athletes who produce more consistant tennis, but perhaps lack the ability to pull the trigger. That said, I do feel Heather was able to generate such incredible angles that she needn't worry too much about sacrificing a bit of pace. She should really attack the net more when she has the player out wide, but easier said than done when your on Ashe against a player like Masha.
Dont suppose either of the Golden Oldies (I kid) will be on a televised court at all?
You can learn to be more aggressive though and Heather certainly has the talent to add big weapons to her game, her forehand is solid but she should go for more. Either way, just a brilliant performance last night.
Ah, but she has now broken in the 2nd set to lead *2 - 1 Having lost the 1st 2 -6 (just for the record or anyone who is out slaving and unable to follow )
Bally only winning 42% of points behind her 1st serve atm, perhaps an indication of the slower courts this year but she certainly needs to improve that statistic
