Great to see how Jamie has come back to form in the last few months, now winning 120 ranking points since the beginning of April with hopefully more to come this week. Has developed a good recent habit of winning more than one challenger round, maybe even more to come this week
And really good from Alex too, after also saving match points in his FQR, to get such a good win today. Ghed In ! Sorry
I suppose that means that Dan & Josh are now going to fall flat on their respective arses, given that they're both Brits & that there's that unwritten rule which states that we're destined never to see three, let alone four, out of four Brits triumph in an overseas Challenger event!
Gee, SC, how to dampen the mood
Hopefully the players don't read much of the wimpy British stuff that comes out on this forum at times
( edit : though I am generally for folk at times saying what they really think irrespective of players reading our ramblings. It's just I don't buy into this things happen just because they're British stuff )

Just to remind you "Yevseyev's last three meetings against Brits saw him drop a set to John Rambotas, lose 1 & 3 to Oliver Golding and lose 3 & 1 to Ashley Hewitt."
Er?!
Dan does at least avoid the bagel by holding for 1-5*

Just watched a few points of this car crash (probably not a good idea!) - Dan got him to 0-30 then had what looked like an easy smash for 0-40 but angled it so wide towards the other side of the court that it went out by miles.
Still some hope though, because he did eventually break for *2-5 ... and if he can find anything like a bit of form, it would not be too hard to turn this one around.

Are there any livescores on non betting websites? The ATP livescores aren't covering Astana and livescore.com seems to only be showing the scores from completed matches.
Alex will play 3rd seed Kudryavtsev 1st on Court 3 at 07.00 BST tomorrow, while Josh will be 2nd on Centre if he won today. Jamie will play R2 on Thursday, as will Dan if he wins - the stream froze and after refreshing, bet365 no longer seem to be offering it?!

Someone on MTF reports: "Cox served some underarm serves ( hope I looked it up right ) at the end. Don't know if he is injured but he doesn't seem to have cared that much about the match in the first set."
So perhaps he is injured - it would explain a lot, though possibly not the breadstick he handed out in the 2nd set!

Why is saying what I said being "wimpy"? Realistic, more like! I'm a natural pessimist & I've had my hopes for/expectations of British players dashed/confounded far too often now to be prepared to assume that victory for any one of them is in the bag until the last ball has been struck. That said, I said what I said in the fervent hope that it would have the opposite effect & that my expectations would be confounded in a positive way!
Re your edit, no, things happen because, by & large, most of them ain't good enough to do much more than muddle along in Futures & lower level Challengers! Doesn't make want to stop supporting them & hoping for the best, nor make me feel like transferring my allegiance to players with more obvious talent and/or potential from elsewhere, though.
