Must admit won't be in the least bothered if they lose the next round. Andy's got a few doubles matches on court with Jamie, which have hopefully been useful for Andy himself. But I reckon no bad thing now to be on his way to Cincinnati asap and work on sorting out his singles and be as ready as possible to try and go pretty deep next week.
The courts in Cincinatti are fairlt similar to Montreal, aren't they? He may get more practice court time if he stays put. I think he should have a day off and do something defferent so that he comes back refreshed. His poor performance here was not down to a lack of preparation.....
Here is a dead tricky question (unless you have the ATP results database and you're a dab hand at SQL): The Murray boys are playing doubles against a pair where one member of the team is playing singles a couple of hours before the doubles. Should Andy and Jamie be hoping that Berdbrain wins or loses his singles match? I'm sure most people on the board will have an opinion on this, but can anybody back it up with some data?
Cheers
Steve

Is the correlation that when he does well in doubles, his singles results suffer? Or that when he does badly in singles, he puts more energy into doubles? Madeline's post rather suggests the former, but I also wonder whether there's an element of the latter. Any opinions? Incidentally, the fact that three of the "Big Four" went out either in their first match or in their second ... and that they were the only four who had not played between Wimbledon and Montreal (I think) does make you question the wisdom of using a Masters as your first tournament "back."
