Apart from his win in the Guadalajar challenger in June, Capdeville really hasn't done much this year. Despite JW's loss to the Chilean, Dino is surely the bookie's favourite.
Does he know what he is going to do after the US open?
Going to Thailand to play Bankgkok then Kuala Lumpur ATP 250's
The result is a disappointment, especially after her won the first set in less than 25 mins. Despite this loss, he is in excellent form and desrves to be at a new career high.
It'll be interesting to hear his comments about the match
Ah pity after the first set , a set though probably helped a bit by PC's low 40% first serve in, he served 71% in in the final set ( I see James was fair blasting aces in the first set ! ).
Although disappointing of course to lose, I'd say it's not at all a particularly bad loss to lose to Capdeville, who's had an OK year. As was pointed out earlier in the thread he was just ahead of James in this year's "ATP Race" and has beaten a few top 100 players even if for his Challenger title win in June he didn't seem to need to beat much. As I said earlier, bet365 had it very close with Capdeville just favourite.
So, wouldn't have any particular concerns re James and hope he can continue his really good form in his upcoming tournaments,. In particular, would be great if he could qualify for the US Open and he should now at at least be seeded to reach the FQR.

Definitely not too much to worry about with Wardy at the moment - Capdeville has just beaten Odesnik in the Final here and James was the only player who managed to take a set off him all week!

... not only that, but Capdeville is a Binghamton specialist too - he has won it 3 of the last 4 years, and in the 16 matches he has played in that time, the only players to have taken a set off him are Rajeev Ram (won the 1st set of the 2009 Final), Balleret (thrashed him 1 & 2 in R1 last year - something must have been up that day!) and James in R2 this year!

In an idle moment, I've just been looking at Dino's results over the last 12 months. It is quite interesting. What stands out is his performance (or non performance!) in the first half of this year: Excluding DC, he played 15 events, mostly challengers. In those 15 tournaments, he won just four matches and only 30 points. His luck changed at the Nottingham Challenger where he qualifed and won a couple of matches.
His eight weakest countable ranking tournaments for the last 12 months give him just 39 points. Between now and the end of the year, he has 105 points to defend. So, only 144 points to defend until the start of June. An additional 145 points would be just enough for him to break into the top 100....
