RE: Week 32 - Challenger ($50K) - Binghamton, NY, USA - Hard

RJA, apologies for having misinterpreted your post re: timings; Indiana, thanks for the clarification. Moderators: is there a facility for deleting offensive posts? I'm torn between not wanting to give Vandenburg the satisfaction of a reply, and a sense that his post is so completely out of order that it shouldn't even be visible. Getting back to the genuine topic, the rain was well-timed, wasn't it? Time to get over the flight ...

It's probably for the best if we just move swiftly on...

Had our resident Norwegian idiot been better informed he might have known that there was trouble in Nottingham tonight and that Evo is based in Nottingham at the moment. It would have made his idiotic post look slightly better.

I was obv referencing to Monday night. Satire is generally appreciated on MTF, the situation is so bleak all you can do is joke at times. Btnet are the kind of people who go to queens and wimby, old conservative farts.

The Evo causing trouble joke was vaguely funny (albeit in a bad taste kind of way) the first time it was made, years ago, it just becomes less funny (and, from what I can tell, more unfair) with each passing year.

I don't think there's any need to delete the post though - even if the board could be seen by an outsider to have a collective view, the follow-ups make it very obvious that it's not the view in that post.

Vandenburg, you clearly don't look at the board very much if you think we are just "old conservative farts who go to Queen's and Wimby" - I dare say some of us are old, some of may be a bit conservative, some of us may be farts and some of us may even go to Queen's and Wimby (guilty as charged!), but you are far more likely to see posters from here at Challengers, Futures and ITFs. ('cheapskates' might have been a better insult to use wink but I think most people here go to those events for better reasons than that)

It was also slightly more entertaining when the humour was about someones professionalism.

'Joking' about the current situation is not on.

Anyway hope the weather is better in Binghamton and we have some tennis to discuss.

Right, moving back to relevant matters tenniswise. Ward is currently 5-2* up in the first set.

Btnet is with out a doubt center-right forum as i would say the majority of people who are members of tennis clubs are right Think its awful that Aggassi has been the only person whos dared say anything about the lardy dar elite toffs who surround tennis in the UK.

AT TIMES this forum is like the MCC members stand at lords. Put it this way, if a mexican wave started in MTF and then went to another forum, it would not carry on at british tennis 'anit fun' . net. I sometimes wish G. Boycott would come on here and say it like it is!

over and out.

And to Vanderburg, tbh one of the reasons I use this forum is there aren't many WUMs. I hope your last sentence is a permanent statement!

Yip, good straightforward win 6-2 6-1. 9 Aces, 2 Dfs, 80% of service points won :)

And another 7 points in the bag, should move him up another couple of places in the rankings.

Next up should be No2 seed Capedeville  WR 116  (CH 76 5/09) who plays a WC later
