This win avenged defeat in the doubles final to George & Miles McDowall

From the LTA

Seeded number one in the tournament, the 14-year-old has had a successful summer making five Tennis Europe finals and winning two, he will now go on to compete in Germany.

That was the best Ive played all week. My games been getting better all week and thankfully climaxed just at the right time. I lost to George a few months ago so its good to have had another chance against him.

I knew what I had to do and I went out and did it. I lost in the U10 boys final and I kept remembering how I felt and I knew I wanted to be holding the trophy so its certainly nice to have it in my hands now.

The under 12s have reached the quarter-finals and the trio who did so well by reaching the Tennis Nations Challenge final were all placed in the same half of the draw, and Dominic West accounted for Max Stewart in the second round

Remarkably all the GBR U12 team failed to reach the semis, which hopefully means there is good strength in depth here.

The draw for the under 16s is out. Joshua Page and Tom Colautti are the top seeds, but look out for Peter Ashley (seeded 4) and wildcard Joshua Sapwell, winner of the under 14s last year.

I discovered, courtesy of a thread on GBTG, that the 4 under 12 semifinalists are all 98 boys, as the LTA use different acceptance criteria to Tennis Europe - which explains why the U12 team (99s) all missed out.

Final

(1) Luke Hammond v (3) Thomas Wright

Luke wins both titles (the doubles with Thomas). In the under 16s Peter Ashley edged out Shakeel Manji, who was vying with him for top British '96 a couple of years ago. Josh Sapwell sets up a second round match with second seed Tom Colautti.

U12 Final

(1) Luke Hammond d. (3) Thomas Wright 6-3 6-4

Catch-up today because of bad weather yesterday. Tom edged the big second round match against Josh 4-6 7-5 6-3 whilst Peter Ashley lost heavily to Billy Harris, one of two players through to the semis so far (along with Clay Crawford)

SF

(1) Joshua Page or (6) Toby Michell v (7,WC) Billy Harris
(5) Clay Crawford v Jack Findel-Hawkins or (2) Tom Colautti

Joshua wins the title having survived three close 3-setters during the week. Jack Findel-Hawkins and Alexander Gasson add the under 16 to their under 18 doubles title

Final

(1) Joshua Page d. (5) Clay Crawford 1-6 6-3 6-4
