Why does Alex Ward need a WC to enter qualies.......I thought anyone could turn up and enter qualies?

I think you can for qualifying but you can only get in without a WC if there are free spaces after all those on the original qualifying entry list who sign in have been given places.

 I could be wrong here but techniacally speaking I think you still have to ask for a wild card but so long as there are free spaces the request is almost always accepted.

Morgan won in the first round of qualifying by 5 and 6. He is in a fairly nice section of the draw so hopefully he will get through.
