Jamie lost his doubles to put a little bit of a dampener on it.
Until Jamie starts taking his career seriously again, and by that I mean not playing with a different partner every week, I really can't get too upset over his shocking run of results.
L32: Alex Bogdanovic WR 376 beat Gregory Ouellette (USA) WR 301 (CH 293 last Nov) by 2 & 4
Clear evidence, if any was needed, that the Bogster is a little under-ranked at the moment! BP stats for Boggo were 3/8 taken and 1/1 saved, which is a lot better than in his last match!
L32: (5) James Ward WR 177 beat Mark Verryth (AUS) WR 566 (CH 507 in Mar 2011) by 4 & 0
Verryth is 6 ft 7 and Wardy says that one of his serves was clocked at 149 mph (even given his height, I wouldn't be surprised if the equipment was a few mph out!) yet he still managed to break him 5 times!
L16: Alex Bogdanovic WR 376 v (1) Lu Yen-Hsun (TPE) WR 67 (CH 33 last Nov) - H2H 0-0
L16: (5) James Ward WR 177 v Erik Chvojka (CAN) WR 315 (=CH) - H2H 1-0, Wardy won 3-6 7-5 6-1 in Lexington 2 weeks ago
The less said about the top seeds in the doubles the better - RJA makes a harsh (but probably very fair) point there. I'm not sure Jamie benefits long-term from the knowledge that Andy may well bail him out when he really needs it, though of course that may have nothing to do with it, it's impossible to tell.

decent win from Boggo, expected really. obviously we know Ouellette got a fair chunk of his points from the Lexington Sf, where he got 2 Ret's and beat someone quite low ranked before being knocked out in a thrilling encounter where the winner was uncertain untill match point
unless Bastl can pull a shocker out then it's a toug 2nd rd for Boggo, but it's also a good chance for him too.
as expected from Ward too, should be making the QF's here, where it would be nice if we get a Boggo v Ward match up, certainly will be interesting.

Ward will play Chvojka who won 60 in the 3rd whilst Boggo will take on Lu who only dropped 3 games vs Bastl. In Boggo's favour Lu has the ATP challenger spotlight which normally curses the player.
Boggo not b4 2pm on Centre with Wardy 3rd match on ct1.
