Disappointed for Jade, but Vekic is obviously going to be a top senior, so no disgrace. If anything this field was more stacked especially the non seeded players( Lemoine/Vekic) than the 25k last week at Wrexham. So no SF after I predicted we would have 3 is not great but its only 1 week so no need to panic just yet.
with a very good week of ranking improvements and some huge rankings improvements this year for quite a number of players. Also as Steven pointed out elsewhere, unprecedently 10 of these players currently at career highs.
Won't look quite as good, well for weekly movements, next Monday. But things generally seem to be heading the right way.

Yes, it is looking good at the moment though you need to bear in mind that there are always likely to be more YTD rises than falls in a table like this simply because players who have moved into the top 25 table during the year are almost certain to have moved up (adding blues to the table) while those who have fallen out of the top 25 table are almost certain to have moved down, removing what would otherwise be pinks from the table.
The mover stats at http://www.freewebs.com/britishtennis/stats/mv-f.htm?n=1 don't paint quite as rosy a picture - 20 positive moves (4 new entrants + 16 moving up) to 18 negative moves (7 dropping out of the rankings + 11 moving down), but the good thing this year is that the upward moves tend to be happening where it matters most, i.e. higher up the rankings.
In fact, more than half of the positive moves have come from players who started the year in the top 800, whereas more than half of the negative moves have come from players who were not in the top 900 at the start of the year. The latter is partly because more tournaments this year and the new '10 points as an alternative to 3 counting events' rule has increased the number of players in the lower echelons of the rankings by about 100.
