RJA - thanks for all the results/scores. Do you happen to know who won the Bowtell-Bobusic match? (I'm getting asked from Ireland, and given that the Irish were so good to us last week ...)

2 GB winners then and no seeds left in the top half of the draw. Jade will play Vekic, who turned 15 last month and is already world junior no. 26, while Samantha will play Lemoine, whom she beat in Woking 2 weeks ago but who upset the other Samantha in R1 here before beating Daneika today.

I think its a case of the tournament organisers just wanting to get that days schedule over as quickly as possible, as they don't advertise these events to the general public they don't feel any obligation to change this approach.
Back to the tennis, Jade wins the battle of great friends/doubles partners. Not surprised given Jade's current form and Anna not being 100%. Hopefully now Jade can go on and take the title NOPRESSURE.
Disappointed for Fran, thought she might get the win there but her opponent has previously been ranked much higher so a tough match.

I think this is spot on. The LTA make no effort to promote events like this and thus hardly any members of the public turn up to watch. There were quite a few people there today but I think they were almost all family and friends of the players or fellow players. A lot of the British men who lost earlier in the week were there but this is presumably because they will be playing Cumberland (5 miles away) next week.
