I think it will be Chris.  He was a break up in the second set when I had to go away from my desk.  The match had disappeared of the board when I returned.

Bit of a shocker from Baker, gives Evo the opportunity now to overtake him in the YTD points should he beat Eaton

Strange that Goodall and Eaton are not playing doubles confuse

Could be totally wrong, but Eaton down for Segovia next week so dubs may have stopped him from getting there in time for quals sign in??

I presume if he went on to do very well in singles and make semi's/final he'd take a WC into next weeks future?

QF: (1) Josh Milton WR 308 v (6) David Rice WR 428

H2H 3-1, 1-0 on clay, 1-1 on grass, 1-0 on hard (that was their last meeting, a 2 & 1 win for Josh at Roehampton last year)

QF: (8) Josh Goodall WR 439 v (4) Benjamin Mitchell (AUS) WR 385

First meeting. Josh has now equalled Dan Cox's 12-match winning streak from this time last year, which ended in the Chiswick QFs. They didn't do this in exacly the same tournaments, because Dan won the Irish Open whereas Josh had already won two Futures before it and gave Dublin a miss. Dan also played the no. 4 seed in the QFs, Mecir, who went on to win the title here last year, so let's hope history doesn't repeat itself!

QF: (2) Dan Evans WR 313 v (5) Chris Eaton WR 411

The winner plays an unseeded Frenchman (Baker's conqueror Cauvard or Rousset, who beat the Look in R1) - H2H 3-0, the last one was a 2 & 2 win in Cardiff in 2009

I fancy Milton to beat Rice and would certainly favour Evo against Eaton.

Goodall v Mitchell could be a very tight match. On a faster court I would expect Josh to win but on these courts it could be tricky.

I might go to down to watch.

tough day at the office today, i felt i was the better player in the first set but he was holding by playing the big points well.
I threw in one bad point in the game at 5-4 which was a double fault to hand him the set. Pretty unacceptable.
Second set got a shocker of a call at break point at 1-0 to give him 2-0 and i couldnt recover from that.

should be a good match between him and goodall as he is good from the back and has good returns.
See if i sneak in next week or not, and if not wether i get a wild card.

there is a massive difference between the court i played on today and the top 3 courts nearer the club house. Wish it was all on the front 3.

Bad luck Fitzy. Another point of course but I know you want them quicker than this. As always, thanks for coming on here despite the loss.
