... also an honourable mention for unranked Joe Salisbury, who recovered fro ma set down twice to beat two ranked fellow Brits! Another terrible result for George Morgan, I'm afraid (if a very good onefor John Richards who beat him) - that win against Kosler in Frinton doesn't seem to have been the end of his below par run of form, unfortunately.

I saw a bit of Salisbury's match againts Rice at Frinton (lost on a third set Tie Break) and he looked a pretty good player so these results don't surprise me that much.
Joshua MILTON (GBR) (1) Vs Joshua JONES (GBR) Yannick JANKOVITS (FRA) Vs George COUPLAND (GBR) Matthew SHORT (GBR) Vs Ruan ROELOFSE (RSA) Miliaan NIESTEN (NED) Vs David RICE (GBR) (6) Benjamin MITCHELL (AUS) (4) Vs James FEAVER (GBR) Matthieu ROY (FRA) Vs Andrew FITZPATRICK (GBR) Mark RICHARDS (AUS) Vs Jamie WHITEFORD (GBR) Liam BROADY (GBR) Vs Josh GOODALL (GBR) (8) Michael LOOK (AUS) (7) Vs Elie ROUSSET (FRA) Jules MARIE (FRA) Vs Edward CORRIE (GBR) Simon CAUVARD (FRA) Vs Richard GABB (GBR) Alexander WARD (GBR) Vs Jamie BAKER (GBR) (3) Chris EATON (GBR) (5) Vs Neal SKUPSKI (GBR) Sean THORNLEY (GBR) Vs Oliver GOLDING (GBR) Alexander SLABINSKY (GBR) Vs Lewis BURTON (GBR) James MARSALEK (GBR) Vs Daniel EVANS (GBR) (2)
Bunch of quite interesting GB match-ups, isn't it. But what rotten luck for Marsalek and for Neil Skupski, who seems to be Baltacha's inverse insofar as GBR futures are concerned. In his entire career, as far as I can tell (Steven?), he's only failed to draw a seed in the first round once (at which point he went through to the semis). One could rather like his chances here, though, despite the disparities in ranking.
Speaking of interesting pairings, just was looking at the County Cup stats and saw that Bamford/Rice had a perfect record. Pretty impressive. Eaton/Salisbury, Auckland/Bloomfield, May/Thornley and the Corries did well, too.
