I haven't come accross these two before - the ITF website tells me they are twins. Anyone know if they've been dubbed the "British Williams sisters" yet?

I'm no expert on the girls, but had noticed them in Junior tournaments and given they will be 17 in September and I see have played a lot of ITF Junior tennis without startling success, I would rather suspect not
Anyway, good luck to them.

I wouldn't be surprised LOL but I think the journalistic convention is that it's only if two tennis-playing sisters are black that the "British Williams sisters" label is slapped on them at the speed of light.
Journalists - not predictable at all, nooo ... (though I mustn't tar all journos with that brush!)

Those types of headlines are almost always determined by the Editor. You can imagine there thought process of how much more interesting they think the story will be to the average reader if the two are labelled the 'next Williams sisters'.
Serves me right for tweeting a note based on this before checking it myself - not something I often do and there seems to be a cast-iron guarantee that the few times I do, it'll turn out to be wrong and someone with a lot of followers (Nino Severino in this case) will have retweeted it in the few minutes before I manage to correct it! ITF has this scoreline but says Sophie lost.
It does show what faith I have in Peter, who almost invariably reports this stuff correctly. Not sure whether you misread it or they have reversed the scoreline somewhere else, e.g. on TE?

That's a pity, i thought she was through to the main draw. I am pretty sure it was the other way round when I first saw it.
I believe you - since you see the name of the winner in the next column, it's very hard to mis-read who won and it wouldn't be the first time this week ITF have got the result the wrong way round (they had Alex Ward getting thrashed in Belgium when it was Alex who had handed out the thrashing!)

Ah, missed the LL bit at first and I'm like, oh, so Sophie really did win her FQR after all. Took over the no 1 seed's spot in the main draw, but to no avail.
