RE: Week 29 Futures - Ireland F1 ($15,000) - Dublin (Carpet)

Yes - I was just thinking, we should have had a DC tie v Ireland this year (if they hadn't lost to LUX in R1) but the 5 GB v IRL FQR matches will have to do as a substitute - we won those 4-1 wink

Main draw is out

http://www.tennisireland.ie/userfiles/File/Database/Main%20draw%20singles.pdf

Gabb got in as the last DA while Hudon got a WC giving us 12 brits in action.

Eaton is the third seed and plays Gabb in R1 while the only other all Brit clash is Burton v Farquharson

Shame for Chris because he looked to be the only one who was able to push Goodall last week so must have played a good match there but unable to back it up this week it seems

Looks like the tiebreak really decided the fate of the match

The Brit carnage continues on Dublin - though the latest two results are hardly unexpected and Oliver did well to take a set off the fiendish Look!

L32: (Q) Harry David Meehan UNR lost to (3) Fabrice Martin (FRA) WR 505 by 4 & 4

L32: (WC) Oliver Hudson WR 1243 lost to (4) Michael Look (AUS) WR 463 by 6-3 6-7(6) 6-3

By the standards of rubbish days for Brits at a tournament, this is turning out  to be quite, er, rubbish, as another one bites the dust:

L32: (Q) Keelan Oakley WR 1793 v lost to (WC) Ciaran Fitzgerland (IRL) UNR by 1-6 6-4 6-2 bleh

From a dropped "d" in Belgium to a rogue "n" & an inverted "l" in Dublin, Steven? wink  Joking aside, a disappointing result, but par for the (artificial grass) course for today, it seems! disbelief
