Another decent looking performance from Marsalek, and at least the 2 points here will take him up to 8 points and to a CH of about 960 a week on Monday.

I kind of think it's high time he was at least in the top 1000. Over the last few months he seems to have put in some good looking performances against much higher ranked opponents without much reward. Here he beat the no 3 seed Martin of France in the first round. And just like earlier in the year ( when he lost to Evo in Tipton ) he has lost a futures QF in 3 fairly tight sets, so just missing out on the comparative hike in points you get for reaching a futures semi. 

Pity he couldn't eek out the win against Look toda. The extra 4 points would have taken him about another 90 places up the rankings, and of course it would have given him another meeting with Evo.

I really do think he seems a player that will be going quite a lot higher.

Tomorrows OOP shows just why I hate the tennis authorities in this country. You have two singles SFs and the doubles final to play, this is a good days worth of tennis and well worth attending to watch but in Britain we insist on playing the the two singles matches at the same time. Why?

Yes, very good question.

Actually tomorrow it looks even sillier.  I am sure Goodall and Eaton would quite appreciate having the other singles semi in between their singles clash and their doubles final. 

Singles at 11.00.  Doubles at not before 12.00 ( no mention of after rest ).  What's the bloomin rush, I thought the forecast was fine.  But as you say, this is fairly normal to use two courts when one would do.

I am left wondering just whose interests that OoP is made up ?   Specatators - no,  Players - don't see it   Officials -  guess, wraps it all up for the day a bit quicker ?
