The H2H is 3-3 (1-1 on grass) - Josh won their first three meetings (in 2007, 2008 & 2010) in straight sets but Dan has won their last three (twice in 2010 and once this year), however they all went to three sets.
Josh is also going for 10 singles wins in a row of course!
Of course Dan hasn't won a tournament since March 2009 having lost in 9 finals since then (7 in the last year) so while I have nothing against Josh I really hope Dan wins tomorrow. A win for Dan would also put him around 300 in the world which would be border line for US Open qualies.
As for Josh, with his Ilkley and Frinton points defended he now has only 1 point to defend in the next 3 and half months so has a great chance to get his ranking moving in the right direction again.
As for the Doubles Final. It was a close affair but neither Josh or Chris played particularly well. Maes has a very weak serve and he should never have been able to hold 5 out of 6 times. However Josh's comment "I am not used to receiving such slow serves" did get a few laughs.
The one thing that did worry me, and I might be reading too much into this, was that for me Josh and Chris were having too good a time out there considering that they were losing. I know well established doubles pairs like to have a laugh on court but at times I would have rather seen a bit more focus and a few less smiles.
One final observation from today. Someone really needs to tell Dan that just because it is possible to slide on a grass court it doesn't make it a good idea and it is in fact a really bad idea, unless of course you are trying to injure yourself.

So GB now has a 'poor man's Monfils' to go with 'poor man's Gasquet' (I'm sure you can guess who the latter is even if you haven't heard it before!)
Still, unlike la Monf, I imagine Dan isn't mad enough to be a Sliderman on hard courts ...

Yes, Evo hoping to end (and Josh hoping to continue) two streaks of 9 tomorrow!

Josh (who names his rackets after footballers ...): "Fernando Torres got the job done on the tennis court today!! Now to get it done at fratton park!"
Sounds like he won then. I'd assume it meant he had definitely won except that I'm surprised they've managed to get the Final played unless they gave up and went indoors.
Btw, wasn't it 8 finals in a row Evo had lost? (now 9 if he lost today) ... or have I miscounted?

Wow Josh destroyed Dan! Just goes to show what a force Josh can be when hes in form, now needs to keep this up!
With results/scorelines from past 2 weeks he's easily still a top 300 player in singles
When playing well Josh is a formidable grass court player. Last year he had a good two weeks at Ilkley and Frinton but was soon after hit by injury problems, lets hope this year he use these results to push on.
EDIT: I do however note from Twitter that this match was played indoors.

Very good couple of weeks from Josh. It wasn't too long ago some were questioning where he was heading.
He recently said he had got himself much fitter and that certainly appears to have been confirmed by those who have seen him.
Just maybe a pity he hadn't got himself as fit before ( as again I think he said himself ). He really needs to stay with this regime, indeed now fully dedicate himself to be all he can be and see just where he can still get in the game. Don't leave time for any more regrets.

You have miscounted. It is now 10
2011: GB F3, GB F4, Thailand F2, GB F10
2010: Italy F7, GB F13, GB F14, GB F16, GB F17
2009: GB F15
Thanks, I remembered it being 9 before today (which is why I agreed with it the first time) but when I checked on ITF, I missed GB F3 for some reason ... and then missed it again when I rechecked, no idea why!
