Josh is almost certain to take out his old CH of 310 as a result and might even scrape into the top 300 - my estimate based on the current ranking list is 302.

Which would put him border line for US Open qualies.
Just realised that Josh's R1 win here was his first in a Challenger singles main draw outside the UK and only his second anywhere - last November, he beat Rameez Junaid (AUS) in R1 at Loughborough before losing 6-1 1-6 6-1 to Niland in R2. This is only the 7th Challenger main draw he has played in, though he has tried to qualify quite a few times in addition.

Josh 45% 1st serves in to Mahut's 63%, but Josh only won 40% of the points when he did get his 1st serve in c.f. 50% of 2nd serve points. In fact, he is doing slightly better on return (47% of points won) than on serve (45%)
