But she breaks to 15. Tie break time.

This is fantastic stuff from Lucy. Diatchenko has served for the match 3 times, but Lucy has managed to take it to a tie-break. Whatever the outcome, this seems to be a fine performance against the top seed.

Great effort as SMC says. Taking 9 games off the WR162. Hopefully she can carry this form on to Wrexham.

Indiana - what does your cryptic comment on twitter about Konta mean? (i.e. "Konta been turning a load of other girls British tho most apparently losers.")

I assume it means I made a mistake somewhere, but the numbers I gave (8/13) still look right to me.

Edit: Just saw your answer on Twitter. Phew! You're so good at spotting errors that I immediately assumed I must have made a mistake somewhere!

Interestingly the bookies make Tara favourite for this match, not sure I see it that way.

Oops, my fault and here's you worrying you have a malfunction.

I misread this tweet of yours :

i.e. managing to miss the "&" between FoxhillsSurrey and 10/19 and then having got the idea in my head that FoxhillsSurrey was commenting on Woking-Foxhills then somehow managing to totally overlooked the"@ Frinton" bit.

i.e.   I thought FoxhillsSurrey had said 10/19 through there and you had corrected to 8/13, so my comment was more aimed at FoxhillsSurrey.

Anyway, I've tweeted to ignore my previous tweet, but that's the why and wherefore   ashamed

Hee hum.

Relieved to hear Laura's score, more what you would expect.
I think the reason Laura struggles to put several high level performances together is a focus thing.
I remember at Notts when speaking to her mum during the third set of her loss to Pliskova, that she commented that Laura had lost her focus and that defeat was nearly inevitable. So putting 5 back to back performances with a high level of focus which she will need this week is tough for her.

Tara proving me wrong at the moment 1-3 to 5-3 serving for the set deuce.

And they're on the money so far:  Tara's just taken the first set by 6-3. wink

That's really good to see from Laura's point of view after the tight one yeaterday with Jade.

Sam losing in 3 to Sirotkina looks a really pretty good performance.  Sirotkina beat her  6 - 3  6 - 0 on the way to winning the Bath 10K in March.  I do get the impression that lately Sam has moved up a level again.

There's no doubt Sam has been a major success story this year, not surprised but at the same time very impressed with her continued improvement. She looked good at Notts, strong mentally and a decent game to back it up. Shame she pulled out of Wrexham as it would have been interesting to see her play again, and most likely would have picked up a few more ranking points.
