Thanks Peter for the draw, and I'm maybe going to be being a bit cheeky now But I always think when there's only say one or two matches involving non Brits that I like to see the whole draw to see at a glance where the matches fit in and what the win / loss implications are. Sorry, anyway just saying.
Some interesting all-Brit and Brit / Aussie Brit matches there with Webley-Smith vs Kointa and South vs Fitzpatrick making up one quarter with the ultimate semi finalist from there getting at least 24 points.
As folk have said really surprisingly close Robson vs Windley match. Let us hope a large part of that was a storming performance from Jade before Laura pulled through at the end. Still even then can't imagine Laura could have been that close to her best.
That's an excellent win. It will definitely mean a new career high around 710 since she will have 1 Q + 8 MD points to replace her 1 point from this event last year.
In fact with the completion of the first round, just based on the points from those wins, it looks like we will have a load of new CHs.
Definitely : Lucy ( who steven was referring to ), Sam and Fran
Probably ( based on the current rankings list ) : Emily and Tara
And if Laura reaches the semis ( actually possibly even just the quarters since that would leave her on her current CH points ) she would also likely go to a new CH.

It will also mean it will take 20 points to get onto Steven's top 25 table - I don't ever recall seeing it that high.
Hey, coincidentally I'd just been thinking that, although hadn't checked on any points due to come off. Looking now, yes, Yasmin will be 23rd on 21 points, Eleanor and Fran will be 24th and 25th on 20 points. Like you I never recall seeing 25th place on so many points.
If you say just look back to week 19, 22nd to 25th place were respectively 11, 11, 11 and 10 points. So certainly some real stirrings and the entry criteria to the top 25 much higher.

Yes, 'entry standards' are getting higher - the GB no. 25 had 6 points before Wimbledon, 13 points after Wimbledon and will have at least 20 on Monday week.
I believe the highest number of points for a GB no. 25 since I started the women's table in mid-2008 was 19 in 2009 week 42 (and for a while in late 2009, the GB no. 24 had 23 points) and the lowest was 4 in 2008 week 40.
