sounds like a horrible weather day. hopefully not a serious injury for laura.
well done joko. she's a top 150 player when she plays to her best. i was watching her match against safarova a few weeks ago and she really should have beaten her. she just needs to reproduce that level more consistently.
A shame that such an interesting final had to end that way but if Laura's injury was getting worse by playing on she had no choice really. Still a good week for Laura, not so much her level of performance but the fact she won matches from losing positions twice
Ironically I wouldn't be surprised if Laura's injury is as a result of a lack of matches, and because she's had quite a few this week a part of her body has broken down. Given a few days rest I wouldn't be surprised to hear she is AOK.
Great for JoKo though, but the test for her will be see if she can follow up this good form at Wrexham, something which she has found difficult in the past.
Congratulations to JoKo on a really good week. Should play more often in GB Just hope she can start to find some real consistency now and climb up these rankings.
Pity of course the circumstances of the final win.
It must be sooo annoying for Laura, we can only speculate re the latest problem(s) but I do really hope for her that there will not be another lingering issue and / or any more stop / start to her tennis.
The ability is so clearly there, but she has been unable to develop as quickly as she and her supporters would want due to the restrictions on her training, practice and matchplay.
Time will tell re the latest issue(s) but I'd just love to see her get a good few months of steadily improved fitness and matchplay.
