last year LA had a wild card shoot out, where i think Boggo lost to Somdev in the SF. then after he lost in normal qualies he played that odd pro-am thing where he beat Spadea. wonder if they will have any of that going on this year,

Thornley, Broady, Golding and Feaver all make DA's at Chiswick.

Fitzy, Burton and Skupski and now 3rd, 4th and 5th alternates.

He didn't play for a while after the grass court season last year but I think it was widely accepted that he was pretty disillusioned at the time. That doesn't seem to be the case at the moment and he looked very focussed today (first round at Frinton) so it is a bit of a surprise not to see him playing Chiswick. Maybe he has something going on that week or simply forgot to enter, ir will be interesting to see if he enters the futures the following week.

Good to hear. All too often British players prefer the comfort zone of cheap points at British futures rather than pushing for challengers at every opportunity.

It is though to me a sort of balancing act.  You need your base level of points, be they "cheap points at British futures" or whatever to then have more of a go at Challengers.  The higher that base, the less risk you're really just getting in for one or two challengers and then having to go back to futures, unless you just keep going for challenger qualifiers.

I've had this discussion before re Dan Cox, where arguements were being made that he should of been playing more challengers earlier. I would actually have been prepared for him to even more generally have delayed Challengers until after Wimbledon rather than play the number he did in spring this year. . Then having hopefully really pushed up his rankings gone for Challengers in a pretty big way.  But basically I think he has got it about right.

Well his plans seem to have suffered a bit of a problem. As of Thursday the two Challengers that follow on from Campos Do Jordao (Brasilia and Salvador) have been cancelled furious
