I feel very sorry for Ken. He started the year so well after splitting with Colin but then had his time out to recover from the op. His ranking has slipped because of it and he'll find it hard to play ATP main events soon. He really could have used the win here.
Boggo had an interesting end to the day playing mixed doubles with our very own Miss O'Brien in the WTT playing for New York Sportimes. Sadly they lost.

Another example of Boggo being an absolute disgrace. Have him taken out and flogged
I enjoyed it personally. Extreme and incorrect views give you a chance to really consider your own opinions and think about how you communicate them
I agree with you. Without wishing to sound like Jason's 'Early Learning Centre' trolling, I do believe that Boggo really ought to sit down now and have a careful think. I really don't see him ever getting back into the top 300, so does he really have to motivation to carry on at challenger level for another 3 years ? It's not has though he's going to make any money out of it - he'd be better off financially packing it in and coaching.
[...] It's to be hoped that J&J can acquit themselves better later today, but given that they're playing the top seeds, I wouldn't bet on it! That said, Lipsky & Ram aren't invincible & if Big Ivo & Frankie Moser can see off Cerretani & Marx (3) in straight sets (5 & 2)...
I think perhaps I was being a little overoptimistic last night: they've just dropped the first set by 2-6 in 23 minutes.
Well, quite honestly, if I could disgrace my chosen profession by only managing to be one of the top 2, 3 or 4 (or 8, as it is now) in the country and among the top 500 in the world, I'd be quite satisfied.
Perhaps some people play on not for the external approbation but for love of the game, because they know they are talented and they enjoy what they are doing, and because once you retire (at least for the men) you'll never quite have the same opportunities to play competitively again.
I have issues with the travel involved in pursuing the dream (it's a lot of carbon) ... but that goes for all the Tour, not any one player. [NB: Any chance that some day the Tour will realise that the traveling circus could be better organised and less environmentally destructive? Roland Garros has made a vague attempt to be slightly greener, but it's far from enough ... and the whole Tour could use help]
But leaving aside the travel issues, why shouldn't Mr Bogdanovic continue to play? He's still gifted. He must still be enjoying it, or he presumably would stop. And we've seen a whole host of late-bloomers recently. So well done for qualifying and having a perfectly reasonable scoreline given the rankings discrepancy, Mr Bogdanovic! And if you want to, carry on, sir! (but consider going by train/coach/playing nearer home, eh?)
Yeah well we have to apply a little bit of relativism here Spectator. If 60 million people played professional tennis, then Boggo's ranking might be more impressive. He's an abject failure, and it is this type of tacit acceptance of failure that typefies the English game. Boggo isn't going to be a 'late-bloomer', in fact my guess is that his thinking - concerning his (lack of a) career - is probably closer to my own. If I was going to work, in my chosen vocation, and consistently underperforming and showing not a jot of potential for improvement, I would most likely quit, or even more probably, be fired.
Getting beaten 7-6, 6-3 at a below average tournament is hardly 'perfectly reasonable'. I guess you probably thought Boggo's failure to exceed the first round of eight succesive Wimbledon's was also 'perfectly reasonable'. It's not reasonable, it is downright shameful! It's unfair to compare Boggo to Murray, but a more appropriate model of comparison would be with GregorDmitrov or John Isner; Boggo is IN A DIFFERENT UNIVERSE TO THESE GUYS! So exhausting this even further - HE'S EVEN ON A DIFFERENT PLANET TO GUYS LIKE KAMKE OR BOGMALOV JNR. His attitude is disgusting. You either try your best, find out your not good enough, and act appropriately, or try your best and compete at the highest level. Boggo, on the other hand, continues to exist in this limbo of patheitc obscurity at the very lowest levels of professional tennis. I couldn't face the shame if I was him.

Jason, I have to say, the spelling in your posts is way below average. In fact, some would call it an abject failure. The acceptance of this also typifies the recent decline in the English educational system.
Perhaps, if you're not up to the task of writing in English, you should just quit, or maybe take up French instead.
