Not too bad draws there, hard to really tell given the courts.
ER-V came through Boggo's qualies section at Wimby, lost in the 1st rd to Simon. Also lost to Tursunov and Tomic in the 2 notts events, did beat Bolelli in oen of them tho (and gabb who took him to a TB!)
Boggo's probably pleased to have avoided Sela (no more isrealis please), but he does have a 2-0 h2h over Kunitsyn!. Got a 1-1 h2h vs kamke, obviously the german has kicked on since then, he played a Halle and Eastboure in the run up to wimby, obviously going out to andy there, where he lost to Ranoic and seppi, got a win over reister but that was a 1st set Ret. Got a win over Kavic at Wimby. He nipped back home to play a clay challenger between wimby and this, lost in 2nd rd.

Ok, Nick Lester has just tweeted saying it must be a while since 2 brits qualified for an overseas ATP event. Over to the stats guys!
I can't remember one and this is a difficult one to research - I've checked some of the obvious overseas ATPs that often attract Brits and there are a few cases of one British qualifier and another Brit (DA or WC) playing, but no luck with two qualifiers yet. It doesn't help that many of the Brits who get into ATPs through qualifying have done so as LLs!
I won't get the chance to check in more detail since I have heaps to do before leaving for DC on Thursday, but if another possiblity springs to mind, I will look it up.

Martin Lee and Jamie Delgado qualified for the Masters Series Montreal Canada in 2001. To be fair, Jamie was a LL but even so, imagine having 2 Brits qualify for a Masters event these days!

From memory, wasn't that the same year that Martin got to the semis in Newport? That gave him a huge rankings boost. He came back to Europe and one a first round match on clay in the Netherlands against a Japanese guy. He spent much of the rest of the year collecting first round loser cheques which is vastly more than he could have made on the challenger circuit....
Newport always has a s lightly odd turnout - most players consider that the grass court season is over, the layout of the courts there is bizzarr. The courts sometimes share tram tramilines (obviously you can't play on adjacent courts)! In some respects, this is understandable for a club that wants to get the most out of its precious grass, but for an ATP tournament??!! The surface is reputed to be krappe, I remember Andy getting in trouble for saying as much. Anyway, I quite like the quirkiness of the Rhode Island tournament, not withstanding English players propensity to occasionally win a round or two there.
I'm suprised Chris Eaton hasn't bothered to travel thre, especially after winning a round at Wimbledon.
With Wimbledon over, there is nothing worth watching on telly! Does anybody subscride to the ATP streaming service? How does it compare with the on line streaming that the Beeb offered?
the other little bonus for our guys is the extra £1k the LTA gives for qualifying for ATP events, obviously on top of decent 1st rd ATP money. I'm sure that will really help these guys fund their summer now.

I do, as I don't have Sky or Eurosport. I don't think it is quite as good as the BBC one was, but it is pretty good and covers a lot of matches. Sometimes the quality seems a bit off but I'm not sure if that is the fault at their end or my computer. I do have a fairly fast computer but can have trouble with contention at certain times of the day.

Strangly enough Kamke is back on clay in Germany next week in Stuttgart!
