On site. The top ranked teams that turn up basically. Normally means some of the singles players that want to play doubles

Interesting scheduling for Laura this week and next.
Choice1.play the tough clay court event
2. play the weak clay court events or
3. play the 2 weak British challengers on hard.
Decision play the tough clay court event in France. I understand the reason for playing on clay, but why not choose the weak ones where ranking points will be easy to come by, and where she is likely to win more matches and get the matches she needs to get her fitness up to a better level. Thankfully the ranking points from Wimby will protect her ranking, but it could have been a chance to elevate it playing weak events.

The Woking event is looking very weak for 11/7 with only 2 top 200 players slated to play following withdrawals for non first preferences.

I agree Phil, seems to me to be a tad counter productive. Play on clay to improve your movement and fitness but choose a tournament that you're more likely to play less matches in.

It may be that she doesn't want to travel to Canada for one tournament, which at her age is fair enough.

There's actually a 25k tournament in Germany with no top 200 player and where she would be seeded this week.

Laura has withdrawn from this weeks and next weeks clay court tournaments in France. Seems like a good decision to me.
