Laura was fantastic (apart from the bits where she was rubbish). Tons of wonderful forehands and the occasional good backhand. Serve not as good as usual and especially poor in the key moments such as the tiebreak and once she had 4-0. Movement still slow but her ball striking is superb. I'll be astonished if she never makes the top 10.
For me, that is the best result so far this year; Laura into the second round at Wimbledon, and she was a fully deserving winner. Wish I had been there.
So chuffed for Laura, she got better as the match went on, regaining alot of confidence in the process. Having watched all her matches at Notts and the way she succumbed under a bit of pressure on occasions there, I thought oh no 4-0 up as per US open qualies and she's going to lose again, but this time no problem. I mean never in doubt !! As for Heather I'm keeping my fingers crossed the elbow injury is not too bad as we would have had 4 through but for that.
