GSM Mayer, that's a tough loss for Evo, looking at the score it looks like a good match etc, 2 TB's, 2 close sets, but from following the scores you feel that a bit more consistency and he could have had a big scalp.

Got to give credit to Dan for todays match and he certainly justified the decision to give him a wild card. Mayer is a top 20 player and pretty good on grass and to be honest I was expecting 3 comfortable sets for him.
Lets just hope that Dan can take the positives from this and from Eastbourne and start producing his best in futures and challengers and get his ranking up to where it should be.
Well the 3 WC's have all lost, granted they got tough draws and gave very creditable performances. You can tell why these guys are DA's and our guys aren't atm just not consistent enough at the mo!
It says something about how Ward played at Queen's that I am little disappointed by the scoreline. Hopefully he take something from his grass court season and start producing consistently on the challenger tour.
