Llodra's serve was just ludicrous today in those first 2 sets, and when it's level finally dropped in the 3rd James was too deflated to take advantage...he will rue that missed volley at 4-4 in tiebreak though
Evo will be highly disappointed he didn't get the prized scalp but a respectable performance against a top 20 player

I think Ward's reaction to losing the *4-3 point was the telling moment. There was a look of "Oh bugger I have thrown away the mini break and my big chance has gone". That thought probably caused him to miss the volley at 4-4. It was perfectly understandable from a player who is basically new at this level but if he wants to play at this level regularly he needs to learn from it.
As for Evo, lets hope he channels his disappointment well. That is two good performances in a row and although he has nothing to show for it is clearly something to build on. If I was him I would start off by asking very nicely for a wild card into a very weak field at Manchester and put this run of defeats to an end.
Decent performance from Evo, too. I don't think any of the WCs disgraced themselves so the worries that giving WCs to players ranked so "low" dilutes the competition is unfounded.
Volandri won only 5 games. OMG! OMG! PLEASE BAN CLAY COURTERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
