What is her points total (assuming she loses the SF)?

I make it 8 points, two previous 1 point events plus 6 for for a $10K SF.

Are you sure you have the finalist right? I have read differently elsewhere.

Very pragmatic long term planning for Eleanor and her people to, I read, play a number of tournaments over the coming weeks on clay and try and improve her general play through this route, and maybe miss out on a bit of limelight back home at this time. All the best to her.

Agreed. Reminds me of when Naomi Broady played a series of 10Ks in the Balkans on clay a few years back - may not be the quickest way to points in the short term, but should hopefully give Eleanor a Plan B as she'll need one on clay (and a plan C etc).

Guess though, as well as learning, she might even also actually manage to pick up the odd point or two   smile

Was so expecting her do this well  - NOT

Great stuff, Eleanor.    All the best for the final.

Is that what you read? That was the first thing that came into my head when I read it.

Seems to have found an extra gear this week, still very surprised she's not played the junior grass court events though.

Well, a win would be the greatest trick she's ever pulled...

Great win for Eleanor, who was actually 2-5 down in the 1st set as well! (edit: oops, that was already reported above!) But it is top seed Harmsen she will play in the Final - there's a reference in the bit about Eleanor's win below and a report on Harmsen winning her own semi on the tournament site http://www.toptennis.nl/

Dutch is not a language I speak but is very much a cross between English and German, so hopefully this translation isn't too far off!

"On the other court, Vinogradova took a 5-2 lead. Eleanor Dean fought her way back to a 6-5 lead. It then became 6-6. Once again, Vinogradova looked like wiinning the first set, taking a 4-1 lead against the wind. But once the wind was behind her [after they had changed ends, I think it means], she hit the ball just too hard and it got blown out. Eleanor won the 1st set tiebreak 7-5. In the 2nd set, Vinogradova could not get the momentum back [I think there's a 'niet' missing there, so I've assumed it], Eleanor continued to throw in drops shots and won it 6-2, taking the victory, and will be Danielle Harmsen's opponent in the Final."

I was sure it said Kayser when I first saw the result, but then I was in a bit of a rush before going out.

eleanor has great potential she was quite right not to get involved in the Wimbledon QC process. Hopefully even if she looses today it will be the biggest boost so far in her career.

Out of interest.
If she wins, will she be our youngest itf winner? I know Laura also won a 10k a while back.
