Girls: 19th International Junior Tournament of Offenbach, Germany - Grade 1 (Week 23)


This week's top junior event sees Eleanor Dean start a series of clay court tournaments (Futures + Juniors) having decided not to enter any grass court events this year. She's joined by Jessica Ren, Laura Deigman and Georgina Sellyn - the latter having caused an upset to qualify.

Baffled by Deans choice to play these events. I guess its a long term development thing?

 I'm sure that's the reason - we saw last year that she has plenty of weapons in her game, but this year's results suggest that she is struggling playing on a surface where it's more difficult to win quick points, so it makes sense to do this, even if the results take a while to come.

With her Polish partner she upset the number 1 seeds in doubles but went out in the quarters
