This is often where it goes wrong for James.

He had to save a break point along the way, but Dino serves it out.

Great win for Ward. Querrey made it difficult in that last game, but he stayed strong and got over the line.

A result worthy of getting me to post.  Fantastic result and whether or not Querrey was fully fit or not doesn't matter.  An advantage still has to be taken advantage of.

Well done for getting someone else to roll over and have there tummy tickled. biggrin

So what chance is there of a semi place or is that asking to much?

Great result - see, going off last night wasn't such a bad decision. I don't like leaving just a few games hanging overnight as there's so little time to get into the match and recover from a break if there is one. Henman/Ivanisevic at Wimbledon and Murray/Fish at Queen's last year spring to mind. James will be very optimistic for his next match later.

That cagefighter certainly looks pugnacious but seems a great addition to the team.

I really hope the rain doesn't stop Ward getting his match in today.

Things are definiteley going his way today smile

Terrific win! biggrin  Someone else who likes the big stage, be it the centre court at Queen's or Court 1 (whatever the "niceties" of the rules, I don't suppose he cared as long as he was still in it! wink )?  What will 45 points do for his ranking?  Fingers crossed for the match against Mannarino on centre later...

Was thinking if rain bad today he could get an SE into Eastbourne (and free up a WC) but I have a feeling he didn't enter initially

James doesn't have a WC for Eastbourne, does he?  Maybe he'll get an SE now - it is raining and there is no certainty that he'll finish his QF today. He may also win it....

An excellent win for James, even if Querry was well below standard. James took his opportunity and is to be commeded for that

Steve

That wins takes him to provisional 193 (although he of course could lose 45 next week)

Well... in the Notts thread I said that I thought he had the attitude of a top player...

On a more serious note, it seems only yesterday that he was grinding it in Futures qualies. Amazing stuff.
